How I got my feet `summer ready'
Welcome to my blog,
Today I thought I would share how I look after my feet. I look after my feet all year round rather than focusing on just getting them ready for summer.
This would be my No. 1 tip when you are looking after your feet, get a routine that you can do all year round, because it means that you are looking after your feet well and you are not being too harsh on them in the summer months.
My Second Top Tip is to look after your nails correctly, keep them short and look after them efficiently and safely. My feet hurt a lot, which is why I spend a lot of time looking after them. I can tell when my toe nails are getting too long because my feet start to hurt more, especially if I am on my feet a lot. Make sure you cut them in a straight line. I would also recommend only wearing nail varnish when you want (not all year around) because I have found that your nails can be discoloured if you wear it for a long time.
My Weekly Routine
Every morning and night I use foot cream after my shower. I find this really helps prevent my feet from drying out. It helps keep them hydrated, it has made such a difference to how my feet feel, especially with lots of walking or standing on them all day. I also always where socks all day (unless I am wearing sandals) because this helps protect the skin.
My favourite foot cream is Kind natured Coconut & Shea Nourishing Foot Cream £4.99 from Amazon. I love this foot cream so much, it is really nourishing and really makes my feet feel hydrated. I have noticed that in the morning my feet still feel hydrated and smooth after a nights sleep. It smells amazing.
I also use Superdrug's Intensive foot cream, this is a good cream and does keep your feet hydrated. However it does not smell as good as the kind natured is not as smooth.
Every week I also soak my feet, this helps to keep them from aching and keeps them smooth. My favourite is Sunday Rain's Charcoal Foot Soak. I have really noticed a difference using this. I think it really looks after your feet and it smells amazing.
Every two weeks I use Superdrug's Tea Tree & Peppermint Nourishing Foot Socks, I really like this, it really helps hydrate your feet.
Monthly Routine
Every few months I also do a foot peeling sock. My favourite is Oh K Exfoliating Watermelon & Citrus Foot Peel, I used this a few months ago, It took about a week to complete and it was amazing.
Firstly I recommend if you are going to do a foot peel, pick a relatively quite week, just because your feet can ache if you are standing on them for a long time. Also around day 2 or 3, you need to start soaking your feet every night for around 20 mins. This helps your feet peel well. Always wear socks (especially in bed), and wear ones that you don't really care about because you will want to throw them away afterwards because they will be covered in your skin.
