My 3 Top Tips for finding Vegan and Cruelty Free Products
Hi,
Today I thought I would share my top tips on finding vegan and cruelty free products and my favourites shops. I have slowly been cutting out all non vegan and non cruelty free cleaning, makeup and skincare products. I have mainly been focusing on all non-food products, because I have already completely cut meat out of my diet.1) Research
My No. 1 Top Tip would be research the products you want to buy. For example, if I was looking for a new blusher, I would look at various different websites or visit a few shops to find the best one. To begin with, I recommend researching online because it is easier to find vegan and and cruelty free products because you can filter them.
For Makeup, I always start with Makeup Revolution. For the last few years I have been using nearly all Makeup Revolution products and I love them. Nearly all their products are vegan and cruelty free, it is very easy to see what is vegan and cruelty free on the website and most of the products are clearly labelled. I also think that Makeup Revolution is very affordable.
If I do not find what I am looking for one on Makeup Revolution, I also like the Beauty Bay Website. They have lots of different brands and it is very easy to filter to find vegan and cruelty free products. They also have lots of products in different price ranges.
I also love going to Superdrug and looking at the makeup because it is a great starting place to get an idea but also sometimes you can find products that were out of stock online. Also most of Superdrug's own makeup brand is vegan and cruelty free.
For Cleaning Products, I would start with supermarkets' own brands. For example, Waitrose recently launched an new Eco range which I like.
Research is very important, it has really helped me find the best products at the best prices.
2) It is going to take time
It is going to take time, for you to find products that you like. Unless you are on a time crunch, I would recommend swapping out one or two products at a time, just so you are not getting overwhelmed. My Philosophy while doing this has been `finish what I have, and then buy vegan and cruelty free'.
It will also take a while for you to research and slowly make the changes to every product that you are using.
3) Own Brands
I love buying or using shops' own brands, because they are cheaper and great value for money. Shops also frequently have lots of offers on their own brands.
My Favourites Shops:
Superdrug- Most of Superdrug's own brand products are vegan and cruelty free. I use lots of their skincare and hair care products and they are good and very affordable. This was also my main starting point for finding vegan and cruelty free products. I would recommend them as a great starting point for anyone.
Boots- I have found that Boots have launched a number of vegan and cruelty free ranges. I love their botanicas range, it smells great and it is quite affordable.
Wilko- Last year Wilko launched plastic free, biodegradable wipes. This includes anti bacterial, baby and polishing wipes. They are so good, we love them. They are also very affordable.
Waitrose- Waitrose has recently launched a new Eco range of cleaning products, which is vegan and cruelty free and derived from natural ingredients. I love the toilet cleaner, it smells amazing, not like regular toilet cleaner at all.
Marks and Spencer- I love Marks and Spencer's beauty range, they have some amazing products, many are affordable and they smell amazing. They have also very clearly labelled their products that are vegan and cruelty free. I love going into their shop and looking at the great products and nearly all are available from their website or Ocado's. They also have some new Eco cleaning products that I am so excited to try.
